He began by addressing a portfolio that was underperforming and in a state of disarray. Through careful planning with the Society’s best interests in mind, he restructured the portfolio while maintaining a risk level appropriate for that of a registered charity, with a focus on securing reasonable long-term growth.

Over the course of this 18-year relationship, Mr. Kent’s guidance transformed the portfolio into a reliable revenue source independent of membership and donations. This enabled the Society to fund four separate heraldic-related bursaries totaling $20,000. More importantly, when the Society’s activities were significantly impaired by the restrictions of the global pandemic, those revenues supported critical branch activities. In total, the Society was able to draw from the portfolio to support $160,000 in operational needs without significantly impairing capital.
